Female Team Is Leading

News from the 4th GG Auction Cup. The battle of gender is heating up. This time, the female team has the upper hand with 2 consecutive victories from Park Jiyeon (2 dan).

At the third game, Park beat Mr. Jeong Daesung (9 dan) by resignation. The game provides an interesting variation of Taisha joseki at the bottom left corner. Up to move 36, everything is usual. However at move 37, Park who played black extended once more instead of playing a one space jump (ikken-tobi) which is the joseki continuation.
White attacked severely and black went for a ko fight to help her group. A big trade was played early where black gave up her bottom right corner to capture white big group at the bottom left.

The game ended at move 237. Black won the game by resignation.
