Choi Cheolhan starta this year with a high note. He won this year Nongshim Cup and brought the trophy for Korea and he currently is leading the Kuksu title match series with 2-1. Choi perfecting these all by winning the 15th Chunwon title.

Choi Cheolhan (left) vs. Lee Taehyun (right)

Choi who already led the series with 2-0 played as white in the third game, while Lee Taehyun (3 dan) played black. The game was interesting with both players showing fighting spirit. There's a nice life and death starting at black 101 which Choi handled well. Lee Taehyun resigned at move 154 thus giving the title to Choi with a perfect 3-0 score.

Here is the game record:
Choi Cheolhan (white) vs. Lee Taehyun (black). Result: W+R

Choi Cheolhan Lead Chunwon Final

Choi Cheolhan (9 dan) is in a great shape. After successfully became Kuksu challenger, he won two games in a row, thus leading the Chunwon final. Choi met Lee Taehyun
(3 dan) at the final.

At the first game, Choi who played white didn't have much trouble as he controlled the game very well. There were one or two life and death situations, but Choi handled it well. Lee didn't use his wall on the left side effectively.

Things went even faster at the second game, as both players decided to play moyo game. Choi played an interesting combination at the upper left corner and I think we can take this combination into account. Choi dictated the rest of the game.
