The third game of the 35th Meijin title match was played 4 days after the second game. This is unusually fast, since usually there is a one or two weeks break between each match. However, this is not the fastest break in a title match. The fastest was a 2 days break at the 57th Oza sen.

Takao who played black in this game opened the game by playing a 3-4 5-3 enclosure opening. Iyama answered by also enclosing his corner, then both side played at the side. Iyama as usual, play solid game. Day 1 ended with Iyama sealed his move.


Iyama Yuta vs. Takao Shinji

Day 2 started with Iyama played P12, his sealed move. From there, focus of the game seems to be at the center fighting. In the end, Iyama won by resignation in 170 moves.

Now Iyama Meijin is leading by 3-0. The next game will be played at September 22-23.
